Data processed

• Account data: name, business email address, password hash, verification status and consent records.
• Security data: sessions, IP addresses, user agents, password reset data and optional authentication methods.
• Service data: monitored products, versions, lifecycle status and optional internal references.
• Analytics data: pages viewed, referrer information, browser, operating system, device type, approximate country of origin and anonymised session information.
• Technical logs and operational data required to provide, maintain and secure the service.

Purposes

Data is processed to provide and secure the service, operate user accounts, send operational notifications, process product requests, generate aggregated website usage statistics, improve the service and comply with legal obligations.

Limited website analytics are processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in understanding the general use, performance and reach of the service while minimising the collection of personal data.

Cookies, local storage and website analytics

CheckMyVersion uses only technically necessary first-party cookies and comparable storage required for sessions, login state, CSRF protection, security preferences and optional “remember me” functionality.

We use the self-hosted analytics software Umami to understand the general use of our website and improve the service. Umami is operated on our own infrastructure within the European Union.

The analytics service is configured without analytics cookies, advertising identifiers or cross-site tracking. It processes limited technical usage data, including pages viewed, referrer information, browser, operating system, device type, approximate country of origin and anonymised session information. The data is used only for aggregated website statistics and service improvement.

No advertising cookies, marketing pixels or third-party analytics services are used.

Retention

• Nginx access logs: 14 days.
• Laravel application logs and failed jobs: 30 days.
• Website analytics data: up to 12 months.
• Expired sessions: regularly removed.
• Backups: 30 days.
• Completed product-request correspondence: up to 12 months.
• Active account data: until account deletion, subject to legal retention obligations.

Recipients and hosting

Data may be processed by hosting, email, backup and security providers where necessary to operate the service. Personal data is not sold and is not used for advertising purposes.

The service, including the self-hosted analytics service, is hosted within the European Union.

Your rights

Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection and portability and may lodge a complaint with the competent authority.
